Good Day San Pedro! It’s a busy week at the Casa with our sold out Steak, Scotch and Wine Dinner this Friday. But before Friday is Thursday and that means “Tasting Thursday” at Casa Picasso. Chef Val and his team have decided to cross the border from west to east as we explore the cuisine of Poland and Russia in our weekly 5-course chef’s “Tasting Thursday”. This week’s “Tasting Thursday” menu is…..
First Course - Salmon & Eggs – Deviled eggs using a salmon gravlax filling with creamed egg yoke, sockeye salmon, dill & Dijon mustard, topped with caviar
Second Course - Beets & Apples – A chilled soup using roasted beet root, granny smith apples, lemon juice & chicken stock, topped with creme fraiche
Third Course – Sweet & Sour Cabbage Rolls – Cabbage leaves stuffed with ground lamb, raisins, onions & rice, baked in a onion, brown sugar, lemon & tomato sauce
Fourth Course - Skirt Steak and Garlic Mash Perogies – Traditional perogies stuffed with grilled marinated skirt steak, garlic mashed potatoes & ricotta cheese, sauteed in fresh mushrooms & onions with a drizzle of chimichurri sauce & a dollop of sour cream
Fifth Course – Bird Milk Cake – Vanilla sponge cake layered with a housemade French marshmallow cream, topped with a soft dark chocolate ganache
As always, our regular menu will be available as well as our optional wine pairings with the first 4-courses.
