Hello San Pedro and Beyond! The Casa is open tonight and we would like to welcome our new Sous Chef, Manuel (Manu) Arana to our kitchen team at Casa Picasso! Manu was our team leader in our Arepa Truck at The Truck Stop and with years of experience and so much talent, he has agreed to join us at the Casa and we are thrilled.
In the meantime, Chef Val and his team are preparing for this week’s ”Tasting Thursday” 5-course chef’s tasting menu. This week’s tasting menu features a fun satisfying menu that is full of rich and savory flavors. This week’s “Tasting Thursday” menu is……
First Course – Asparagus & Artichokes – Delicious fritters made with a blend of fresh asparagus, marinated artichoke hearts & Parmesan cheese, fried & served with a mixed olive relish
Second Course – Ricotta & Spinach Ravioli – Housemade raviolis filled with herbed ricotta cheese & spinach sauteed in a brown butter & sage sauce
Third Course – Basque Style Tomato Soup – A seasoned ripe plum tomato, garlic, sherry & crusty bread soup served cool with a halved hard boil egg & Serrano ham
Fourth Course – Fish & Fennel – Fresh grouper pan fried with shaved fennel bulb, black olives, roasted red bell pepper & fresh basil dressed in balsamic vinegar & Spanish olive oil
Fifth Course - Banana Cheesecake Royal – A traditional cheesecake infused with fresh bananas with a buttery local biscuit crumble shell & topped with a drizzle of Bananas Foster
