Good Day San Pedro! Well, we are back from our little seasonal vacation and the Casa is open tonight! Yay! We’ve missed you and hope that you missed us as well. We are refreshed and ready to serve you. And guess what? Every once in awhile you have guests that make a permanent marker on your lives and it is sad when circumstances lead them to leave our precious island and begin a new chapter of their lives. Bill McDonald and Kathy McDonald fit that bill with almost a perfect attendance record for our Thursday “Tasting Thursday” dinners. With that in mind, we have asked them to choose this week’s Chef’s 5-course, “Tasting Thursday” menu and hey, they did a great job! You both will be seriously missed and we thank you for your friendship, fellowship and for being some of our favorite guests.
This week’s “Tasting Thursday” menu is……
First Course – Sticky Shrimp – Tempura fried, large local shrimp tossed in a housemade habanero & mango jelly, topped with crushed roasted cashews & a sprinkle of green onion over an Asian slaw
Second Course – Mediterranean Stuffed Figs – Sweet figs stuffed with goat cheese & walnuts served over a bed of fresh arugula with a drizzle of a balsamic reduction
Third Course – Portobello Caprese – Baked large Portobello mushrooms topped with roasted cherry tomatoes, mozzarella cheese & fresh basil, served with a tangy balsamic dressing
Fourth Course – Apple Pork & Polenta – Roasted fermented black bean & anise rubbed pork belly served with Granny Smith apples, sauteed with sherry, accompanied by crispy smoked Gouda polenta
Fifth Course – Irish Creme Brulee – Traditional vanilla creme brulee infused with Baily’s Irish Cream & topped with caramelized raw sugar
As always, our regular menu will be available as well as our optional wine pairings with the first 4-courses.
